Ambassador

Ambassador Lami Sauda Remawa-Ahmed is a career diplomat with twenty-six (26) years in service at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). During her career, she worked in the European Division, North Africa and Middle East Division, Staff Development and Protocol Departments in headquarters.  Ambassador Remawa-Ahmed also served as Head of the Economic Section at the Embassy of Nigeria in Madrid, Spain, as well as the Head of the Multilateral Section at the Embassy of Nigeria in Paris, France. In 2020, she was appointed Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by President Muhammadu BUHARI, and served as the Deputy High Commissioner at Nigeria’s High Commission in Yaounde, Republic of Cameroon, till she was appointed Ambassador of Nigeria to the Republic of Chad at the end of 2022. Amb. Remawa-Ahmed reported to N’djamena on 4th January 2023, and subsequently presented her Letters of Credence to President Mahamat Idriss Deby ITNO on 13th January, 2023.

Experienced in International Relations and Diplomacy, with expertise in bilateral economic relations, multilateral development institutions and diplomatic consular relations, Amb. Remawa-Ahmed is skilled in Cross-Cultural Diplomacy, Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding, Public Policy and Governance, Training/Mentoring and Research. She is also multi-lingual with advance level certification in Spanish language, proficiency in French and basic Portuguese.

Amb. Remawa-Ahmed has a degree in Economics from the University of Abuja, a Master’s Degree in Development Studies from Bayero University, Kano, and a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the Alfonso X University, Madrid, Spain. She is currently Ph.D Candidate in International Relations and Diplomacy, Centre d’Etudes Diplomatiques et Strategiques (CEDS), Paris, France, with academic specialization in Gender-inclusion in public policy for conflict resolution, peace-building and sustainable development. Amb. Remawa-Ahmed is an indigene of Katsina State, and is married with three children.
